At Nana’s you will find Christmas decor in every room, a tree filled with ornaments, and a Hallmark Christmas movie at any time of day. Nana’s Sugar Cookies
Every year Nana makes the Best sugar cookies! This year she shares her coveted recipe with everyone.
Ingredients
Instructions
- Combine Crisco, sugar, egg and Cake Batter Flavor. Cream until light.
- Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and add to above.
- Add sour cream. Mix well.
- Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface until about a ½ in thick. Cut into desire shapes with cookie cutters.
- Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes. Allow to cool before decorating.
- Make icing using powdered sugar, mild and desired flavoring. Add very little milk to powdered sugar until icing hangs on to the spatula.

I recommend 3/4 of sour cream or 2 eggs if you live in a higher elevation, mine turned out very dry according to recipe directions and I did add more sour cream. This happens to all doughs where I live.
